Hybrid Studios was established in 2002 to provide web design and development, advertising, and marketing services to a select group of clients. For over two decades, our work has been recognized for its creative excellence and the measurable results it has produced.

We’ve been quietly making a difference — generating unequaled awareness for some clients and record-setting outcomes for others. As a certified Woman-Owned, Small, and Micro Business, we bring something many agencies can’t: the agility and personal commitment of a boutique firm, backed by 24 years of experience serving federal agencies, nonprofits, and corporations.

Susan Yates

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Susan Yates has more than 30 years of experience in the creative services industry. As founder and owner of Hybrid Studios since 2002, she has led the agency in delivering award-recognized design, marketing, and digital solutions for a diverse range of government, nonprofit, and corporate clients.

Her expertise spans brand identity, print design, advertising, exhibit design, and digital marketing — including government contract work with federal and state agencies. Notable client engagements include Washington Gas, the National Park Trust, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

As the driving force behind Hybrid’s growth into government contracting and agency partnerships, Susan has cultivated long-standing client relationships built on creative accountability and consistent results. Her ability to navigate the distinct demands of public-sector work — from procurement compliance to accessibility standards — sets Hybrid apart from traditional creative firms.

Susan is also an exhibiting artist.

Richard Yates

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER & DIGITAL DIRECTOR

Richard Yates brings more than 30 years of experience as a print designer, web developer, and digital/UX designer. His technical expertise includes custom WordPress development and plugin architecture, full-stack JavaScript, PHP, CSS, and Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance — within both Linux and Windows environments.

His federal agency experience includes the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health and Human Services (HHS), National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Corporate and nonprofit clients include W.W. Grainger, FedEx, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Nestlé, AARP, and the American Chemical Society.

Richard is a recognized expert in Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards — an essential capability for federal and institutional clients requiring compliant, audit-ready digital properties.
