An interactive Nutrition Facts label — plus a companion Fun Facts Quiz — that lets people click into every nutrient and ingredient, in English and Spanish, to learn what the label really means.
The challenge
How do you turn a dense government label into something people want to explore?
The Nutrition Facts label is on nearly every packaged food — but most people never learn to read it. The FDA needed a way to make the label approachable and genuinely educational for a broad, bilingual audience, while meeting federal accessibility standards.

The interactive label
Click into every part of the label.
Every nutrient and ingredient links to a plain-language explanation — what it is, where it’s found, and why it matters — with a glossary, downloadable fact sheets, and a live label that highlights each item as you explore.
English & Spanish
The full experience, in two languages.
Complete English and Spanish parity across the label, every nutrient-detail page, and the downloadable fact sheets — so more families can actually use it.
A separate interactive · Fun Facts Quiz
Then test what you learned.
A companion Fun Facts Quiz reinforces the label with 60+ questions, randomized for repeat play and learning. Each answer gives instant, teachable feedback, and the quiz is scored at completion.
Question formats
More than multiple choice.
Compare real Nutrition Facts labels side by side, choose all that apply, and work through scenario questions — each with a clear explanation of the right answer.
Anywhere
Built responsively.
Both interactives are fully responsive and accessible to WCAG 2.1 AA, so people can explore the label and quiz themselves on any device.
